Neighborhood associations are an important part of the involvement and volunteerism of the residents of the community in city government. Active neighborhood associations enhance resident involvement and provide an important channel for information relative to the activities of the City. A Neighborhood association is a group of people organized within a geographical area for the purpose of studying and acting on issues affecting neighborhood and citywide livability and government operations, and that also actively solicits broad involvement by all residents within the association's boundary. There is no cost to be a part of a neighborhood association, and it should be noted that neighborhood associations are not Homeowners Associations (HOA).
