Carelessly discarded trash often times ends up in rivers, lakes and ponds, and eventually the ocean because it gets carried by stormwater to these places. To prevent litter from polluting our planet's waters, we all must properly dispose of it. Unfortunately, we all encounter litter almost every day. To combat the effects of litter on Oregon's waterways, the cities of Keizer Albany and Salem, Marion County, and Marion Soil and Water Conservation District, are hosting a summer trash pick up photo challenge using the hashtag #ORTrashTag.
