DEARBORN AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT (A locally funded project)
Published on Apr 25, 2018 at 02:06p.m.
The Public Works Department has entered into a contract with K&E Excavating, Inc. to construct the Dearborn Avenue Bridge Replacement Project. The project will start May 1st and be complete by October 1st. The contractor will do it's best to open Dearborn Ave during the Iris Festival weekend. This schedule is tentative as construction scheduling and weather can cause delays.
The project will consist of removal and replacement of the bridge. A new bridge deck will be built at a higher elevation for current flood and seismic standards. There will also be new curbing, gutter, sidewalks, railing on the bridge, lighting for the stretch of the project, storm water quality features and storm drain infrastructure realignment.
Dearborn Avenue will be closed from Verda Lane to 13th St N.E. with limited Claggett Creek Park access from the West side and there will be local access to residents. The bridge itself will not be open. Please use alternate routes and expect delays.
