David McKane was elected to the Keizer City Council Position #1 in November 2004.  His current term will end January 2011.  Councilor McKane is a manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation and is responsible for Oregon's Truck Safety Program.  He has over twenty years of experience in highway safety.  He has also served as a Motor Carrier Safety Investigator for the states of Oregon and Minnesota. 

Councilor McKane is a graduate of Inver Hills Community College, Inver Grove Heights MN, obtaining an Associate Degree in Transportation Management.  He is also a graduate of St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud MN, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Education.  He moved to Oregon in 1985 from St. Paul Minnesota.  After spending 5 years in Medford, he moved to Keizer in 1991.  He resides with his wife Gretchen in southwest Keizer. 

Councilor McKane will serve as a Council liaison to the Keizer Traffic Safety Commission, the Claggett Creek Watershed Council, and serve on the City's Audit Committee.
